Actullally G4s were used by Walter Murch to edit Cold Mountain. He won an oscar for it. The G4 is still good for retrogaming.

This would actually be very sensible for consumers since it still does what it needs to do and probably fills all the needs of many people - BUT planned obsolescence rules.

My 1999 Sawtooth G4 is still operating (past 10 years as a music server). Upgraded graphics card, processors, disk drive. I hate to throw anything away that still works.
