Wait ... so all the wealthy kids at elite colleges didn’t necessarily get in 100% on their own merit?
Observers on Twitter erupted, some with jokes, and others with righteous indignation about their own struggles to get into elite colleges, and then to pay for them. — Clint Smith March 12, 2019 “I’m pretty enraged by this parenting choice to bribe someone to get your kid into college,” wrote Washington Post columnist Sarah Maclean. “If you get caught, your kid’s whole life becomes a joke. ... No one will ever believe these kids’ work had merit.”
Max Read, a reporter for New York magazine, tweeted that the top 10%, 1% and 0.1% have always had ways of helping their children get into the best schools:
Middle income is more affected. Low income regardless of color can get college for almost free and obviously the rich can cheat to get there. That leaves the middle class with paying full price to send their kids to college. If you make over $120k you don’t get financial aid.
Black, brown, and low-income? You mean white. Why the living hell can no one say poor whites in this country? Regardless the topic, no one wants to shatter the glass on the reality that these things are socioeconomic, and massive numbers of whites are also affected.

Every institution of higher learning is a glorified corporation. There needs to be more regulation on tax incentives given and especially on the exorbitant salaries that are paid to Presidents all the way down.

There's too much focus on those that paid the bribes. Equally culpable are the ones that accepted them. Why aren't we talking about the opaque admissions process that facilitated corruption?
The same virtue signalling liberal, progressives that get up on their podiums and tell everyone how they are doing it all wrong and its not good to be rich.
Are you saying all low-income students are black or brown? Are there no low-income white students? Are there no black or brown students with privileges extended only to them?
What about the middle class white kids? Why does every thing have to divide us into groups?
