Strava wants to make planning your next running route easier than ever with a new update to its online Route Builder. The feature, which is only accessible to subscribers, collects photos from millions ofworldwide so that runners can see the conditions and viewpoints of a route before lacing up and heading out the door.
Powered by artificial intelligence , the new tool culls millions of publicly shared photos each day to help users plan their adventures. According to a press release circulated by Strava, the AI will present recent photos first, updating its library every 48 hours to keep up with changing weather and trail conditions. Users can view these pictures in map view.
This isn’t the first feature Strava has added to Route Builder in 2023. Earlier this year, the company introduced Waypoints, allowing runners, cyclists, and other recreational users to draw and plot their routes.
