ICYMI: Another 'Alberta is Calling' campaign eyes workers from Ontario, Atlantic Canada yyc

“We’re taking what we learned and we’re expanding it . . . This time we are hoping that people from across Ontario and Atlantic Canada answer.”

The campaign boasts about affordability relative to other areas in Canada, as well as Alberta’s natural spaces. Speaking at the Monday news conference, Jennifer Henshaw with Restaurants Canada said the tourism and hospitality industry was hit hard by the pandemic and is continuing to struggle with some operational challenges.

Alberta’s unemployment rate is 4th highest in Canada, being lower than just 3 other provinces: Newfoundland and Labrador (9.9%), PEI (7.3), and New Brunswick (6.3%). Everyone is going back to their home province. My former co-worker moved back to Hamilton after living in Alberta for almost two years. House prices were much better in Hamilton at the time (2015).
