New Zealand's national airline is trialing a new innovation in the fight against waste - biscotti coffee cups

The company says that the cups are leak proof - important if you are enjoying a hot drink at 30,000 feet - while they also claim the vanilla flavour of the biscuit complements the coffee. For those with a sweet tooth, Twiice has said they are also planning to introduce a chocolate-lined cup.

The move to the biscuit cup is part of a move by Air New Zealand to tackle the amount of single-use plastics used on its flights, which had previously seen the airline begin using cups made from plant-based materials earlier this year.

CumminsChar too late

Antipodean positive action....well done! Other airlines, please copy.

Would think the carbon footprint of making a buiscut would be higher.... Than having a normal cup that can be washed.....Maybe just cancel one flight a week to London instead...

All good until one leaks?

Finally I can now have my cup and eat it..

Sher the old ones were edible too if ya tried hard enough.

Stop this nonsense, it’s a plane burning fuel. Go back to using proper cups that can be washed.
