Technology of deploying drones in squadrons is in its infancy, but armed forces are investing millions in its development

As evening fell on Russia’s Khmeimim airbase in western Syria, the first drones appeared. Then more, until 13 were flashing on radars, speeding towards the airbase and a nearby naval facility.

Russia, China and Iran are the biggest users of UAVs in their geographical areas, they are also spending money on swarm warfare. Yet according to the author the West is the one to fear, yup that west which actually subscribes to the GC and human rights.

This will certainly be a tool in the tool-kit of any major military power. Countermeasures will surely be on the horizon.

Can't rule out because it's unmanned, hardly expensive & carry more payload of missiles both conventional/nukes in future ...
