Newspaper headlines: Free internet pledge and high street tax cuts

Various campaign pledges by the political parties continue to feature on the front pages. Labour's proposal to part-nationalise Britain's broadband network and offer free internet access to every household and business makes the front of the Times. The paper says shadow chancellor John McDonnell will later outline the party's most radical policy of the election campaign to date, committing £20.3bn to the project.

As affected areas are braced for further downpours, the leaders of six councils demanded immediate and long-term financial support to help them recover from the disaster. The Daily Telegraph says Nigel Farage threatened to report the Conservatives to the police after accusing Downing Street of offering Brexit Party candidates jobs and peerages to withdraw from the general election.

Free internet so we can fuel our addition to online shopping. Mental illness possibly, addiction definitely, make it easier to get addicted really? Lovely vote winner though so never mind the consequences. Would save me about £45 a month. Free bus pass, prescriptions as well?

Just had Boris on BBC news what a load of bull shit he say s you can never beleave what he says and always puts the blame on Labour all the time

Be funny if one of the kids stood up and said 'Dad, dad, over here!' That'd wipe the smile off his face

Not covering HMRC’s response to Oldco Rangers staunchers?

Free 'high speed' internet...no less. Would like to see how that's going to be technically possible.

So why does a UKLabour council force my mother to pay £610 for a ‘select’ landlord license for renting out her £50,000 house! Selective in the poorest areas of Bootle, the slums..no money spent, high crime, drugs!! These are targets by jeremycorbyn not the ‘rich’ like he says!

The double edged sword..... 5G on every lamp post, payed for by the Tax payer .? Thanks for nothing ..... Google.. Active Denial System (ADS)

A free rolls royce for every bbc fee payer A free unicorn for all under 16s A free pot of RoyalFamily gold for all over 100 A free parking at the nhs all good until the point of U-TURNS once elected

Another diamond of a policy to add to NHS funding, inequality, mental health in schools 🙏, only policy i can remember from the Tories is extra but bit enough funds for the NHS that they have run into the ground Labour

Next they will be offering us free holidays. Oh I forgot, they are with the four day week which will never see the light of day like most of the fatuous promises. Isn’t this the party that said they would respect the will of the 17.4m who voted to leave the EU.

Sweets, falling from the sky...

Is the boy one of his own? Does he know?

The look you make when someone Announces free internet but still loses General Election

What scares me more is Boris visiting all these schools for photo opportunities when he really doesn't give a toss.

Buying the public vote with shopping and gaming. Not save the NHS or housing.

So you’ll nationalise all the companies providing broadband services? Labour aren’t just going to nationalise the post and utilities, they’re going to outlaw and take over a collection of companies in a free market making totally reasonable profit margins?
