Major League Baseball, already investigating the Astros over their handling of former assistant GM Brandon Taubman’s deplorable behaviour toward a group of female reporters during the post-season, is now probing the sign stealing, too.“Regarding the story posted byearlier today, the Houston Astros organization has begun an investigation in co-operation with Major League Baseball. It would not be appropriate to comment further on this matter at this time,” it read.
Last year, the Astros were accused of planting an employee to point a camera into the Red Sox dugout during the American League Championship Series, while this year, the Yankees claimed the Astros used whistles to identify pitches.
ShiDavidi Get rid of the signs completely. Pitchers shake off the catchers until they get the pitch they want to throw anyway, just skip the signs and let them throw what they want. Might speed up the pace of game everyone’s whining about, too.
ShiDavidi If it found to be true, then the people involved should be severely fined and banned for life from participating in MLB. There is no need to cheat. It's just wrong.
ShiDavidi *sighs* just another example of the MLB taking forever on this nonsense. I mean a few years ago the NHL changed a rule WITHIN the regular season so it wouldn't continue into the playoffs. The fact that the NHL gets ontop of issues faster than the MLB is saying something.
