U.S. security agencies are working closely with the presidential campaigns to safeguard against foreign attacks on the 2020 election.

ahead of the 2020 election. Those efforts come even while President Donald Trump, fighting for another term, continues to downplay the risk posed by foreign interference in U.S. elections.

With the presidential candidates’ headquarters scattered across the country, local FBI field offices have made contact with the campaigns and the big political committees, providing counterintelligence briefings to those who want them. Homeland Security, through its Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, has been notifying campaigns about its cyber incident response teams that can be immediately deployed to help them in a crisis. A few campaigns have even invited the agency’s “protective security advisers” to come to their headquarters and offices to perform physical security assessments, DHS officials said.

A few campaigns, including South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s emphasized that they have a full-time cybersecurity expert on staff. Still other campaigns, like Sen. Cory Booker’s, D-N.J., declined to comment on any interaction with U.S. security agencies. But Andrew Binns, the chief technology officer of the 2020 Democratic National Convention and founder of cybersecurity firm Castle Point Technologies, noted that these agencies face an important obstacle — the lack of security clearances by most even senior campaign staff.

Lol. No.

From what I understand the 2018 elections were watched 'very closely' in order to be able to safeguard the 2020 election.

Wolves securing the hen house

That’s laughable.

Good

They should keep a close watch on the machines that are built by the guy that built the machines found to change peoples votes from Republican to Democrat when they pulled the handle. KAG2020Landslide

Stop with the foreign attack bullshit, it’s impossible. They need to safeguard against Democrat bullshit.

Prove it

Oh jeez! We ALL can see how this is going to go down. 🤦🏼‍♀️

🤣🤣🤣

Really, what difference will it make if Trump is asking foreign Countries to help him win.

Scary “The question we are looking at at the moment is, ‘how long can current forms of capitalism last?’. Dr Richard Hames the man who predicted both 9/11 and the Global Financial Crisis. A musician, former paediatric oncologist and futurist uses AI to answer these questions.'

I sure as hell hope so, because TrumpFascism is poised to take over the election ....again ...

Does that include keeping 45* from colluding with Ukraine?

difficult to accept this conclusion when one campaign has made it emphatically clear it plans to accept any foreign help offered,

Why is this a thing? Disconnect them from the internet – Local LAN only, no connectivity to the outside world. ONLY once the results are collated LOCALLY, are they sent to wherever that data is required, followed up by a phone call confirming the local results. CNN ABC CBSNews
