Scientists have developed an artificial"tongue" which they say can tell the difference between different drams of whisky.
The tongue, which has been developed by the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde, uses properties in gold and aluminium to test differences between spirits. The tongue could be used to detect if alcohol is fake With an accuracy rate of more than 99%, the tongue can make distinctions between the same brand of whisky aged in different barrels.
The scientists looked at how the"tastebuds" absorbed light shone on them while submerged in different whiskies.Dr Alasdair Clark, from the University of Glasgow, said:"We call this an artificial tongue because it acts similarly to a human tongue. "Like us, it can't identify the individual chemicals which make coffee taste different to apple juice but it can easily tell the difference between these complex chemical mixtures."
Yeahhh this wont be tasting whisky for long!
That's exactly what we need right now to make this world a better place.
Artificial wombs are coming soon too.
How’s the cure for cancer going?
