— Having a new technology provider will not guarantee a smooth and glitch-free election, a former Commission on Elections commissioner said Tuesday.

"You might have the best system in the world, but if it's not run well, it's not gonna be good," Larrazabal added.over allegations of election cheating and fraud in the recent midterm elections."I would like to advise COMELEC, now, hindi ko na lang hintayin [I wouldn't wait], dispose of Smartmatic and look for a new one that is free of fraud," Duterte said.

If the poll body will look for a new provider, Larrazabal said, agreements should be made before the year ends in time for the 2022 elections. Larrazabal also questioned what will happen to the current vote counting machines should a new partnership push through.
