RICE recognizes the indispensability of local inventors and innovators as contributors for national economic development by providing them encouragement through forms of cash rewards, certificates, and plaques.
This year’s theme, “Science for the People: Inventions and Innovations for Sustainable Development,” coincides with this year’s National Science and Technology Week which focuses on the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals . Inventors may qualify in five categories, such as the Tuklas Award for the most outstanding invention, Outstanding Utility Model, Outstanding Industrial Design, Likha Award for the most outstanding research and development of a technology, and Sibol Award for the most creative research in high school and college levels.
The 2019 RICE will start on June 12 in Region VII. Winners from each category will qualify as finalists for the National Invention Contest and Exhibits in 2020.
