Plaintiffs, who are suing on behalf of a class of app purchasers, allege consumers pay inflated prices because Apple requires that all phone software be sold and purchased through the company’s App Store.
Apps would be cheaper if software developers could sell them directly...3rdstringW Not sure how to feel about this one yet. On one side its Apple's AppStore and OS if you want in play by their rules. Running a platorm isn't cheap. On the other not everyone can eat 30% and be viable.
👍👍
In the wake of $AAPL trying to convince the world its a services company, this can be troubling. This is something not to be taken lightly
Tax paying citizens should be able to sue the government for having a monopoly on taxes and charging 30+% & the sales tax
Yall know you can use a phone besides Apple right?
Their store, their rules. Government should stay the fuck out of it.
When do people stop with the lawsuits and when does the US Justice system stop enabling? I don't have to own an Apple device or buy the apps that the developers didn't have to create for my device. Apple has a service and either you pay to use it or don't use it.
One can only hope they (apple) win. Imagine the bugs we’d see in apps if others could publish at free will.
JoannaStern Yeah more porns, malwares and scammers. Bad idea!!
This is a two edge sword, on one hand I and countless other app developers have had to submit to their rules and opaque decisions, but it has kept malware and non-functioning apps mostly out of the store. Still a long way to go to legal decision...years.
So won’t reign in Facebook, but will challenge the right of Apple to protect the security of users? Android is full of privacy & security issues BECAUSE they won’t control who can put apps into the system
Ooh! I WANT A PIECE OF THAT!
Hell yeah.
