Local businesses and travelers affected by global cyber outage

CrowdStrike released a statement through the social media platform X, stressing that, “This is not a security incident or cyberattack.”The “blue screen of death” as it is called, changed plans for thousands of people, including Bijan Hejazimanesh.

“They delayed my flight eight hours, and they’ve actually haven’t put me on a new flight for my next connecting flight,” Hejazimanesh said. “Because of this I actually have to drive from Mobile to Florida.”Jennifer Anderson’s husband is not able to fly to Mobile Regional Airport because of the outage.

“I have appointments that are hanging in limbo because I don’t know where I have to go get my husband,” Anderson said.“There was no communication at the airport,” Ashley Fuller said. “Every one of the desks in terminal three where we were at, there were no gate agents, and it was very bizarre.” Fuller added that the majority of the people at LAX were calm and understood that something was going on across the globe.FOX10 News reached out to Regions Bank, a local hospital, the City of Mobile, University of South Alabama, real-estate companies and local shops. All reported they were not affected by the outage.
