Democrats rally around pledge not to use hacked documents

But even Democrats aren’t all on the same page about hacked material in certain circumstances, my colleagues reported.

“Refusal to forgo both hacking and the use of hacking materials is a great start, but clear stances on use of fake social media accounts, fake websites and images, high-volume bots, troll farms, and other illicit tactics in common use today by Russia, Saudi Arabia, China and other authoritarian nations will also be necessary,” Simon Rosenberg, who was a senior adviser to the House Democratic campaign arm in 2016 and helped run a program to search for online election interference, told Sean and...

Before the 2018 contests, Rubio and then-Sen. Bill Nelson sent a letter to all Florida election officials warning about Russian hacking — written at the request of Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr and ranking Democrat Mark Warner . Nelson also warned that Russians were actively inside Florida county networks at the time, but that wasn’t confirmed by the Department of Homeland Security or the other senators.

The new working group plans to “take a step back” from that big question about police access and focus on broader encryption issues that haven’t received as much focus The group does not include any representatives from law enforcement or the tech industry but is weighted toward former government officials, including former FBI general counsel Jim Baker, former CIA deputy director Avril Haines and former NSA deputy director Chris Inglis as well as former Obama White House chief of staff Denis McDonough and homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco.

Dems are going to blow it again. They are so polite and nice. I say FIGHT MF'S! FIGHT.

the injury required a band-aid, democrats moved to amputate. smh

Anything that tells the truth is fair game

The real story is that the GOP have refused not to use hacked documents, especially those provided by a hostile foreign power.

THE RUSSIAN KKKLAN GOP CAN WIN EVER IF THEY DONT CHEAT !! THAT TELL YOU WHO THE REAL AMERICANS ARE !! Who are the party the have honesty and work to help all the AMERICAN PEOPLE NOT ONLY THE RICH AND BIG DONORS !! Theres not comparison !!!

BS.

Even if said documents lay out evidence of a rigged primary?

Umm ok. Just pay a foreign operative to concoct a completely bogus “dossier” and publicize that.

funny they’ll never get the GOP emails/documents, Russia is still blackmailing them.

MAGA✌️🇺🇸✌️

The story should be... Republicans still haven't pledged not to use stolen information in the upcoming presidential election like they did in 2016.

I would hope not! But glad they made that clear.

How bout leaked ones?

Yeah, they’ll do it the “fair” way by hiring foreign nationals to buy fake information from Russia then sharing it to the media while weaponizing the FBI and other intelligence agencies.

Yeah, I'll bet they stick to it, too. Bleh.

How about they rally around not using foreign (illegal immigrant) influence? A promise for campaigns to check citizenship of every volunteer?

Look at what the Trump Putin collusion lie has morphed into now ......

Who wants to join my rally? Take the pledge to never rob a bank

So in 16 they would not have tried to undermine with the access Hollywood tape or the hacked page of DJT tax form. A cynic would say not likely

Hahahahaha We believe u!!! 😂

Is this a thing? Way to go.....I guess!!

The only reason they won't use the hacked documents is because they point directly back at them and the other traitors trying to deliver our country to very bad people.. If those docs implicated Trump they would already be plastered across every outlet. Cant you sense their fear?

Dems should say they ARE going to use hacked documents JUST like the Republicans. And see what the Republicans do. You know they would freak the fvck out. The GOP are a nasty group of gaslighting hypocrites. Time to beat them back with their own games.

So stupid

Can’t read your article cuz I am not paying for it

When will the democrat cabal be charged & tried for '16 attempted coup d'etat---treat country as Banana Republic.

It’s ok to do this now. Ask LindseyGrahamSC , Rudy, realDonaldTrump , KellyannePolls

Maybe don't do bad shit that needs to be leaked, not that hard.

Unless hacked Republican docus. Bunch of bs dems are.

lol fuck that pledge

Time for Bernie and Trump to sing the pledge.

She has less than 1%.....lol

Maybe if they pledge to not be fringe leftists, but to stay slightly center-left they might have a better shot. Regardless, it’s a Trump2020Landslide.

That’s ridiculous.

they don't want people to use hacked documents? its almost like they're hiding something and are afraid it will be found.

Sooo…'I pledge not to do illegal shit.' ? Revolutionary.

Useless unless the media makes the same pledge.

It would be better if they rallied around not doing things so ethically questionable that they have to fear the release of hacked documents.

If its against Trump, use anything you can get. He won't hold back. Nor should you.

Lol... The Democrats are grasping at straws....

Why? The republicans are not doing the same. This is a stupid pledge.

Bet you won't get one(1) Republican to match that..
