China filed more than 38,000 of generative AI patents between 2014 to 2023, a new United Nations report on Thursday showed.

Geographically, China leads with 38,210 inventions from 2014 to 2023, far outpacing the U.S. , Republic of Korea , Japan and India ."The sharp rise in patenting activity reflects the recent technological advances and the potential within GenAI," the report said.
