Owners of the previous generation Ford Mustang may want to check if their pony car is part of a recall. This comes after the Blue Oval announced they are recalling 30,735 Mustangs due to a faulty power steering control module software.
Should an affected Mustang’s primary steering torque sensor fail, the steering wheel could start swinging forwards and backward as it applies steering assistance the driver wasn’t asking for. This can result in unintended steering which may cause loss of steering control - increasing the risks of a crash. Fortunately, Ford says that no accidents have happened yet as a result of the PSCM software problem.
