Facebook parent Meta has been forced to delay the roll out of its AI offering in Europe, after privacy concerns and regulatory barriers. Meta confirmed the news in an update to a—which allowed it to use Instagram and Facebook user data collected since 2007 to train its AI models— faced a legal challenge in 11 European countries and had been strongly opposed by authorities including the Irish Data Protection Commission.
