The announcement will put an end to the long list of speculations that followed Ilya Sutskever's rather abrupt exit from OpenAI.

Former OpenAI co-founder and chief scientist, Ilya Sutskever has announced his new startup that will focus on building safe superintelligence.

“We have started the world’s first straight-shot SSI lab, with one goal and one product: a safe superintelligence,” the note says. “We plan to advance capabilities as fast as possible while making sure our safety always remains ahead,” the note reads.
