Scientists have shared the fascinating process of how they create 'cultured beef' without killing animals. This virtual demonstration video shows how the process begins by taking cells from the muscle of an animal that multiply in test tubes.

The AI images are part of Co-op's new report that explores the nation’s 'changing views on food ethics and sustainability' over the past 30 years.

The company extracts cells from the muscle of an animal, such as a cow for beef, when the animal is under anaesthesia.
