Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has recently provided new details surrounding the AI-powered features expected in Apple's upcoming iOS 18, which is set to be showcased during its WWDC keynote happening later tonight. In his latest report, these will fall under the company's new 'Apple Intelligence' brand, which cleverly utilises the 'AI' acronym - for better, or worse.
As rumoured before this, Apple's primary goal is to enhance productivity and streamline everyday tasks by integrating AI deeply into its system apps. Gurman says amongst which are AI-generated summaries of web pages in Safari, a new AI algorithm for the Mail app that can organise emails more efficiently, and a new summarised notifications feature for Messages.
Then there's the AI-generated emojis, which Gurman had already shared before. This feature is claimed to highlight the company's intention to balance productivity enhancements with fun and engaging experiences, allowing users to create new ones based on the content of their messages.Gurman further notes that Apple plans to leverage both on-device and cloud computing to power its new AppIe Intelligence features, with some involvement from OpenAI.
