FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Central Recycling Facility in Fairbanks functions as a collection site for a variety of different materials, including cardboard, paper, aluminum cans and number 1 and 2 plastics.

The facility also accepts electronics, which go to Green Star of Interior Alaska in Fairbanks. As he explained, “At the Green Star warehouse, they take those electronics apart, sort them into their various categories, and then they ship out truckloads of electronic components to their downstream recyclers in the lower 48 as well.”
