Point Broadband was ready to sign a contract with Lee County to provide an internet service option to an unserved area in Loachapoka, but pulled out unexpectedly.

Internet Service Provider Pulls Out of Lee County Broadband ProjectLEE COUNTY, Ala. - “Broadband and internet is a necessity,” said Holly Leverette.

Leverette is the Chief Administrative Officer for Lee County. She says Point Broadband was in communication with them about providing service to Loachapoka, a phase one area. Leverette says the next steps are giving Point Broadband a deadline to sign the agreement or they will move on. Lakiesha Young Hicks is a resident of the unserved area in Loachapoka and she says it feels like they are out of options.
