Innovation, Science, and Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne has seen a number of changes to his policy team of late, with the naming of a new director of policy at the top of that list. Boyan Gerasimov is no longer director of policy to Champagne. Photograph courtesy of LinkedIn Boyan Gerasimov, who had been in charge of policy for Champagne since the start of 2022, marked his last day in the minister’s office on May 3.

Photograph courtesy of LinkedIn O’Connell was hired to take over for senior policy adviser Jaxson Khan who marked his last day in Champagne’s office on May 17. Khan’s files included work on matters related to artificial intelligence, digital technology, privacy, intellectual property, competition, quantum, and semiconductors, as listed out on his LinkedIn profile. Khan was first hired as a policy adviser to Champagne in March 2022, and was promoted to “senior” status last year.
