They’re not earth-shattering suggestions. They’re not even AI-use cases you will get to show off to your friends. But we hope they’re little improvements, that will help smooth off the rough edges in your day. The chatbot might struggle with the ridiculously ornate calligraphy, but it will generally get most of the details right, and from there it’s a simple matter of cutting-and-pasting the invitation details into your calendar and, when the happy day arrives, into your navigation app.Or, depending on your chatbot, you might even be able to go one step further, and just ask it to convert the image directly into an “ics” file for importing directly into a calendar.
OK, so it’s not only numbskulls who do this. There are also good legal and policy reasons for creating PDFs with copying disabled. For instance, you can ask your AI chatbot to create a formula that calculates what week it is, treating Monday as the first day of the week. The chatbot will tell you the formula is “=WEEKNUM, 2)“.
But what about summarising things we never would have read, not ever?That’s when AI can dispense its starlight*, and smarten us up instead of dumbing us down.They can run to 500 pages or more. No human who’s not getting paid to read them is ever going to read them.
