Computer accessories brand Satechi has just announced its new Thunderbolt 4 Multi-Display Docking Station. Created to be cross-platform compatible, the new dock can support up to four external monitors and delivers up to 40Gbps of bandwidth with support for 8K video at 60Hz, plus 96W of power for charging host laptops.

The Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Multi-Display Docking Station can support up to four extended monitors running at 4K resolution with a refresh rate of 60Hz. For digital photographers and graphic designers, the new dock can drive a compatible external display up to 8K at 60Hz when a single Thunderbolt 4 port is being used for video output.

The new docking station enables two monitors to be connected via Thunderbolt 4 and another two screens to be driven via HDMI using DisplayLink software. Users can benefit from the embedded DisplayLink software, resolving the single-display limitation of Apple M1/M2 and MacBook Pro M3 processors. This means that M1/M2 and MacBook Pro M3 users can connect to three external monitors. MacBook Air M3 will be able to extend up to four external monitors when used in clamshell mode.

The three Thunderbolt 4 downstream ports on the docking station can provide data transfer speeds up to 40Gbps. There are also two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports with a transfer speed of 10Gbps. Up to six devices can be daisy-chained with support for 32Gbps native PCIe external GPUs and native Thunderbolt storage devices. Also included with the dock is a UHS-II card reader with a transfer speed of up to 312MB/s.

With certified Thunderbolt and DisplayLink technologies supported, the new Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Multi-Display Docking Station can work with Windows, Google Chrome and MacOS. The casing of the dock is made from aircraft-grade aluminum and finished with a Space Gray colorway featuring chamfered edges, labeled ports and a slender profile so it will look at home next to a MacBook or Surface Pro.Our community is about connecting people through open and thoughtful conversations.
