A research team has successfully led the development of a high-energy, high-efficiency all-solid-state sodium-air battery. The uniqueness of this battery is that it can reversibly make use of sodium and air, without utilizing any special equipment.
One of the main drawbacks of these kinds of batteries is that they require additional equipment like oxygen permeation membranes to either purify oxygen or make selectively make use of atmospheric oxygen.
