In the early days of the digital age, before every platform became a haven for robots and racists, social media was ruled by a much-cuddlier faction: Cats.
It was a simpler time back then. But while cat videos may not have the cat-chet they once did, they remain a valuable and delightful escape from the public shamings and proto-fascism you’re sure to find elsewhere online these days. It also benefits cats. One might even go so far as to call it a cat benefit. Cat Video Fest raises money for cats in need through partnerships with local cat charities, animal-welfare organizations and shelters. This time out, Vancouver Orphaned Kitten Rescue will receive a percentage of all box-office receipts for the Vancity Theatre screenings.
