Engadget has been testing and reviewing consumer tech since 2004. Our stories may include affiliate links; if you buy something through a link, we may earn a commission., but the company has plenty of other M-series devices, including the iMac. Apple slotted M3 chips into its desktop computers, and now the base version of the 2023 iMac is cheaper than ever.

On the plus side, the M3 chipset is very fast and the iMac's display remains terrific. Although this is a desktop system, it's lightweight, so it's not too difficult to move from one room to another or prop it up on something — the inability to adjust the screen vertically is a little disappointing. There are some caveats to keep in mind here, but if you're looking for a nice, pretty new computer for relatively basic tasks and don't mind splashing some cash, then this iMac might do the trick for you.
