The world faces wars, territorial conflicts, natural resource scarcity, and economic and societal disruption on a scale unseen since the early 1920s. Multiple examples show the significant amount of risk that cyberattacks cause to businesses and individuals, in no particular order. According to risk management firm, in 2021, the business social media platform LinkedIn was hacked, which resulted in 700 million users' data being available for sale on the dark web.

The second pig built his house out of sticks, which was also easily destroyed by the wolf. This is the equivalent of using outdated or poorly maintained technology that can be exploited by hackers.
