Hisense Unveils News

Hisense,UK,HDR10+

I've spent the past 25 years writing about the world of home entertainment technology--first at Home Cinema Choice magazine, where I became Deputy Editor, and for the past 20 years on a freelance basis.

If the rate of improvement in Hisense’s UK AV product range over the past couple of years is anything to go by, 2024 has the potential to be a landmark year for the brand.

The light engine is driven by Hisense’s most powerful Hi-View Engine PRO picture processor, and there’s support for all the ‘big four’ HDR formats, including Dolby Vision and HDR10+ . Both U8N models also feature a low-reflection screen filter and a Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro system which optimises how the U8N shows HDR based on the ambient light conditions in your room.

The Hisense U7N range will be available in 55, 65, 75, 85 and 100-inch screen sizes, with prices starting at £1,299.The U6Ns still benefit from Mini LED technology, and this will again be backed up by local dimming. There remains support for all the HDR formats, too, including Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

Switching to regular LED lighting and reducing the dimming zones means the E7N Pros reach a significantly lower peak brightness than Hisense’s Mini LED models. Crucially, though, they step their refresh rates back up to 120/144Hz again, as owners of today’s most cutting edge gaming devices would want them to.There’s AMD FreeSync Premium VRR support too, as well as Hisense’s Game Bar menu and a Dolby Vision Gaming mode .
