In a matter of days, Apple is going to announce its new iPads. But alongside a new iPad Pro, a larger iPad Air and new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, there’s going to be much talk about AI, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has just confirmed. For those worrying that Apple was being left behind by not being in the race to deploy AI, the CEO has good news. In the company’s quarterly earnings report call with analysts Cook pointed out the focus on AI that’s coming.
Although Apple didn’t use the buzzphrase AI for a long time, saying machine learning instead, that’s really changing. Cook went on: “We believe in the transformative power and promise of AI and we believe we have advantages that will differentiate us in this new era, including Apple's unique combination of seamless hardware, software and services integration, groundbreaking Apple silicon with our industry leading neural engines, and our unwavering focus on privacy, which underpins everything we create.”
While the biggest AI innovations are expected to be announced at the World Wide Developers Conference in June, it’s clear that there are big announcements coming as soon as next Tuesday, May 7.
