Britain's Got Talent fans are threatening to boycott the series over the 'terrible' opening act. Britain's Got Talent fans were quick to express their displeasure after the first act of tonight's show was revealed to be AI-generated.
"Where was the talent in that? If this is the way is going then I'm off...... #BGT," another added. "How can a SnapChat filter be an act? ! " questioned a third. "That's hardly talent... it's a bit of miming with some sort of AI camera stuff.... #britainsgottalent #bgt," a fourth disappointed fan concurred.
"Sooner this show is cancelled the better," another called out, before labelling it "staged, fixed nonsense". Other fans criticised the use of artificial intelligence over real performers, arguing it made a "mockery" of recent "strikes and negotiations" concerning AI's role in creative industries. Amidst these developments, it's unsurprising that some have lost their sense of humour regarding AI avatars being dubbed as "talent". Yet, others had a different complaint about the AI act's lack of originality.
