My problem with these is that I don't think I'd write any of these articles if I didn't like them so much. There are other difficult games I won't play, and whatever. But the difficulty is only one part of what defines these games for me, and honestly, it's not the most important part. From Software has some of the best world building in the business and, I would argue, the best character design.
There's a lot of talk about"respecting the player" when it comes to not including an easy mode, an idea that all players can and should play this game in this particular, punishing way. And yet I think the lack of an easy mode showcases the exact opposite.

there is an easy mode: you can one shot enemies if you just learn to parry and break their posture, you get ressurection, healing gourd AND pellets, prosthetic tools and unique skills. maybe you should actually put some effort into learning the mechanics instead of whining 🤷🏻♂️

I think you’re just bad at the game in my humble opinion. If it’s beatable (which it is) then it’s fair to the players. If you played their previous games (the dark souls series) you would realize that they make their games challenging on purpose for people who want a challenge.

This is funny since in the Soulsborne serie the first playthrough is the 'easy mode'. Once you get to NG+ run, there is a spike of damage of the enemies but at that point you learned the game. It takes time to learn all the mechanics and patterns, so be patient and slowly git gud

Nope. Game is fine as is. Not every game needs to cater to a casual audience. People love FromSoft games because they’re challenging and ask a lot of the players...and because of that they’re some of the most rewarding games you can find on the market today. Easy mode? Hell no!
Here's a better idea... Hire someone that knows how to play the game and has the time to play it.
There are items in the game you can use that do increase your damage and lower that of your enemies like you want. Plus the increased damage you get throughout the game from prayer beads by killing mini bosses.

It has a normal mode and a hard mode, that’s enough. With this game sure they could’ve added a easy mode given it doesn’t have a online component, but what about the others that do? How would you balance invaders? How would you keep the spirit of the game?

Beating a from software game has given me more fulfillment than any game I’ve ever played. There is something to be said for having a universal experience where the community can bond over shared pain/triumphs. I get my hand held enough in AAA games.
