As we get closer to the launch of this year's expected iPhone 16 launch, we also get more leaks out of the rumour mill. The recent one claims that said iPhones are getting either more memory, storage, or even both, to facilitate the on-board AI features.
This claim comes via frequent leakster @Tech_Reve on X, formerly Twitter. The leakster cites a report 'from a Korean securities firm' which notes a couple of claims. One is that 'some analysts speculate that the RAM capacity of the iPhone 16 will increase due to on-board AI'. The other is that Apple may be looking to get its on-board AI to run on NAND flash instead of RAM.
Of course, the leakster reiterates that nothing is confirmed right now. On a similar note, there's not much that's stopping the company from doing both either. And the iPhone 16 could certainly benefit from both if Apple wants its AI to do more things on-board than handing off features to the cloud. For now, reports point to the phones using Google Gemini rather than the brand's own Ajax model.
