Elon Musk's brain-computer interface firm Neuralink has released a video of its first patient, Noland Arbaugh, controlling a computer cursor with his thoughts - is this the future?

He claims to have been using the device to read, learn languages and play computer games, including chess, for up to 8 hours at a time – at which point he needs to recharge the device. “It’s not perfect, we have run into some issues. But it has already changed my life,” he says. In the livestream video, Arbaugh says he was released from hospital the day after the implant operation and that the surgery was a relatively simple process from his point of view.
