Samsung is not resting on its laurels following the Galaxy S24 family’s release—details on the next-generation flagship point to the development of a larger smartphone.... The base Galaxy S25 display is set to grow from 6.2 inches on the Galaxy S24 to 6.36 inches on the upcoming Galaxy S25.
An increase in the display size does not necessarily mean that the Galaxy S25 will be a larger phone. To take one recent example, the display on Asus’ Zenfone 11 Ultra is larger than the display of the Pixel 8 Pro; the smaller bezels mean the overall dimensions of the phone’s front profile are smaller.
This would mean that the Galaxy S25 would continue down the path of this year’s models, with the Galaxy S24 increasing the display size to 6.2 inches from the Galaxy S23’s 6.1 inches. It would also mean that the Galaxy S25 display would be larger than the Pixel 8. Given a tentative release date of early 2025, much could change before then, not least the handsets the competition will release over the next nine months. Samsung will likely be working through several functional prototypes to determine the best fit for all of the components. Still, with the lead times required in modern smartphone manufacturing, it would not be out of the question to lock in this decision sooner rather than later.
