In a sign of evolving technologies concerning robotic systems, Unitree Robotics’ H1 V3.0 Evolution has broken the Guinness World Record for the fastest full-sized
The previous speed record for a humanoid was achieved by Boston Dynamics’s Atlas, with its ability to move at 5.59 mph .Located just outside of Shanghai in Hangzhou, Unitree was founded in 2017. The startup wants to democratize legged robotics and make them as common and affordable as modern devices like drones and smartphones.
With the new version now equipped with improved dynamic motion capabilities, the H1 can easily spin downstairs and walk up them. It can also maneuver in confined areas, which makes it very easy to use in human contexts. The company’s H1 humanoid robot is about 71 inches tall, weighs around 100 pounds , and has a Unitree gear train and in-house built high-torque joint motor. An additional characteristic of the humanoid robot is a 15-ah battery with a capacity of 0.863kWh.
According to the Unitree website, the first version of H1 can walk at 3.4 mph , which is a human-like pace. In the promotional video shared earlier, a Unitree engineer is shownas it drives down the street in an attempt to stop it from moving. But all of these attempts are in vain because the robot always manages to reestablish equilibrium after any disturbance., which will also make its way to H1.
