The Half-Term Review (HTR) of the Defence White Paper (DWP) will focus on five specific strategies to enhance national defense not only in terms of physical aspects but also in preparation for digital technology threats. Defense Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the study will identify in detail the effectiveness and weaknesses to ensure that all aspirations are achieved.
He added that the HTR will serve as the basis for the Ministry of Defense and the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) to negotiate with the Federal Government so that their needs can be considered in the 13th Malaysia Plan starting next year. "Throughout the implementation of this half-term review, there are five strategic considerations that need to be focused on, including Future Force Readiness," he said in a press conference after launching the Half-Term Review of the Defence White Paper at the Ministry of Defense yesterday
