The nationwide Optus outage is most likely due to a problem in “the heart of the network”, according to technology journalist Chris Griffith.“To me, it seems like it would be in the core network … because it’s affecting all of these different sectors and Optus’ communications,” he told Sky News Australia.

Optus Chief Executive Kelly Bayer Rosmarin has since spoken out on the incident but has been criticised for her handling of the outage.
