Facebook says that its artificial intelligence systems failed to automatically detect the New Zealand mosque shooting video.

The news and stories that matter, delivered weekday mornings.Facebook said on Wednesday night that its artificial intelligence systems failed to automatically detect the New Zealand mosque shooting video.

"AI has made massive progress over the years and in many areas, which has enabled us to proactively detect the vast majority of the content we remove," Rosen said."But it’s not perfect." One reason is because artificial intelligence systems are trained with large volumes of similar content, but in this case there was not enough because such attacks are rare.

Rosen said another challenge is in getting artificial intelligence to tell the difference between this and “visually similar, innocuous content,” such as live-streamed video games.

But they will have a picture of a nipple banned in seconds 😂😂

Convenient. Conspiracy. Doesn't pass the smell test... planned. Distraction for more to come...

Well, if they can't even hash user passwords, this should surprise exactly no one.

Think narrative. Who stands to gain? These people are sick. Patriots waking up WW. WAKEUPAMERICA WWG1WGA

They put settings in place for gunshots and screams. But it seems gunman scoring three them off by using music.

Thanks Captain Obvious

'Vice President of Integrity'? 🤔

AI doesn’t fail.

Perhaps Facebook can tell us how many harmful videos have been detected over the past year, and how many have failed to be detected? 1% detection rate? 5%? 50%? 95%? 99%?

Facebook is failing at everything... 1. Failed to protect your privacy, 2. Failed to prevent the Russian bots to distribute their propaganda, 3. Failed to prevent online bullying, 4. Failed to protect your password safe... what else to expect from that company?

Oh whatever. It’s failed twice before and the videos were not taken down until widespread criticism. Money, money, moooney!

None were republicans or conservatives. Its not in there algo

Call of Duty

😳

Facebook’s human intelligence is repeatedly failing to detect the writing on the wall

So when will we all learn that AI = Artificial ignorance or do we run down this rabbit hole too...has anyone used AI with their phones using talk text...useless...stupid and ignorant. We will all be that if we allow AI to continue AI = Artificial ignorance

Facebook has got a terrible or non existent PR department. Facebook screened a mass shooting for 11 minutes explained by the elephant ate my home work excuse.

Sure does find conservative posts pretty darn quick though.

Another Facebook failure.

Rogue AI turned a blind eye.

artificial intelligence? I love that term, as if a program machine, can build new programs by itself. lol

I think it a big lie by Facebook now they going to say whatever to keep them out of out water.

DELETE FACEBOOK

Facebook says what? Is anybody really all that surprised?

derp

Were the developers of the AI system 'white supremacists', then it surely didn't detect the shooting! Seriously?

They were probably too busy banning and silencing pro-Trumpers.

Then they are not competent for the job..

What?! Even with all that stolen data and secret tracking software? Well damn, I guess we should give Facebook more control over our devices and personal information then, right? To keep us safe and stuff?
