The details of the way in which the video was uploaded, spread and detected show the limitations of Facebook’s efforts to police its platform and remove bad content. The site has come under fire in many parts of the world—from Myanmar to Sri Lanka—for failing to take action against hate speech, fake news and misinformation.
Why Facebook exists still is beyond me.

Any notion that we can blame Facebook for this attack is ludicrous. The intelligence agencies are experts in these things and if they missed it too then a social media platform can hardly be responsible.
Even if they caught the video, how could they have prevented the strategy?
