Computers can beat a grandmaster at chess, but they're no match for an imaginative toddler

Everybody’s talking about artificial intelligence. Some people even argue that AI will lead, quite literally, to either immortality or the end of the world.

Neither of those possibilities seems terribly likely, at least in the near future. But there is still a remarkable amount of debate about just what AI can do and what it means for all of us human intelligences.

More than probable

I hope not. They should be limited! Humans are dangerous enough and those same humans making a robot to be able to come up with new ideas is scary

They probably will but not soon

Machines, can be instrumental in find answers to concrete problems. Human beings, count with creative capacities; the application of rules, is important but count with many variables, can’t be rigid, in many instances human flexibility is very important.

Eventually every job will automated.

Eventually, maybe 50 years ... but if you listen to all the AI hype, you’re lead to believe it’s happening tomorrow.

I wouldn’t bet on that.

Probably not but most jobs don't involve creative thinking, they involve following procedures.

Once the machine realizes that it can never hope to keep up with our unfettered lust for things to complain about, my guess is that it will say 'eff it' and 'accidentally' detonate the sum total of the global nuclear weapons stockpile all at once.

Asimov 3 laws of robotics are there to be applied

We all know it's gonna happen eventually. Rather sooner than later, just a matter of time before we figure this out.

Why AI is still terrible at spotting violence onlineArtificial intelligence can identify people in pictures, find the next TV series you should binge watch on Netflix, and even drive a car. Sarcasm? Which is the proof that speech should be free, no matter how horrifying it may seem... GL Humans are obsessed with violence, it's what brought us to the top of the food chain eons ago. We generate so much media about it, that identifying legitimate acts of violence rather than theatrical violence is often times impossible without external context. Just tell them to log into CNN and all their hate for whites and America.
