These 'space drones' could help Nasa alien-hunters explore deep Martian caves to find life on Mars

ALIEN-HUNTING scientists have admitted they hope to explore deep Martian cave systems using "space drones".

This involves sending out light waves and tracking reflections to map places too difficult for humans to explore. These caves are interesting because they've been sheltered from harsh surface conditions – like radiation, wild temperature swings, and meteorite bombardment. According to Lee, the "Astrobotic drone" was able to map the Icelandic lava tube in 3D "within minutes".The final version of the Astrobotic mapping drone would require thrusters to operate on the Moon and MarsThis speedy technology would be ideal for mapping Mars and the Moon.

It's also made more complicated by the fact that the distance is constantly changing as the two planets rotate around the sun
