The M1 not only proved to be successful but also powerful and efficient at the same time, earning early adopter's trust for reliability to move to a new ARM-based desktop architecture.

The M3 chips come in three versions: the M3, the M3 Pro, and the M3 Max. They are designed for different Macs, from the lightweight Macbook Air and iPads to advanced MacBook Pros, Mac Pros, and Studio. They can handle various tasks, such as web browsing, coding, running simulations, and editing videos.

The base-level M3 chip has eight cores and a new 10-core graphics unit. It is as complex as another famous chip, the Phoenix, made by AMD. The M3 Pro and the M3 Max are even more advanced, with more cores and graphics units. This time, the M3 Max-based MacBook Pro can be opted with as much as 128GB of unified memory. The M3 Max is the most complex chip ever made, with 92 billion transistors inside.

Apple is known for investing much in research and development, especially in making its chips. Last year, it spent over $26 billion on R&D, which is more than the GDP of some countries. This shows that Apple is one of the few companies that can afford to make such complex and innovative chips. Making chips like the M3 takes work. It takes a lot of time and money and a lot of expertise and creativity. Apple makes most of its technology instead of using other companies' technology. The M3 chips have many new features, such as a new graphics system that can handle realistic 3D tasks with support for ray tracing, a new AI unit that can learn and improve, and a new multimedia engine and encoder that can process multimedia production faster than ever.
