KUALA LUMPUR: Elon Musk’s Tesla and Starlink Internet Servi­ces Malaysia Sdn Bhd were allowed to operate as 100% foreign-owned companies after taking into account the benefits they could bring to the nation, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

KUALA LUMPUR: There are no plans yet to revive the Goods and Services Tax , says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who asked if the government plans to reintroduce GST in the country in the short and medium term.GST is better than SST, says Ismail SabriHowever, when announcing Budget 2024 on Oct 13, Anwar instead said the government planned to raise the sales and service tax .

The service tax was raised from 6% to 8% but would not include services such as food and beverage, and telecommunications.
