The Prime Minister will host a summit of world leaders and tech bosses on Wednesday in the hope of agreeing AI regulation

Rishi Sunak gave a speech on Thursday morning setting out the capabilities and potential risks posed by AI Rishi Sunak will seek to convince voters that artificial intelligence will help “save the NHS” and overhaul public services as he prepares for this week’s AI Safety Summit.

But Labour accused the Government of failing to set out a plan to make the UK a world leader in the technology and warned of the danger that patients’ medical data could be sold off for profit. Mr Sunak has also announced a £100 million investment in artificial intelligence will be used to research new treatments for cancer and dementia.

The £100 million is aimed at helping to kickstart this work, and to investigate how to tackle deadly or life-changing conditions like cancer and dementia.
