The complaint from the Department of Justice alleges that Google allocates substantial sums annually to distributors, which encompass prominent device manufacturers like Apple, LG, Motorola, and Samsung, major U.S. wireless carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, as well as browser developers like Mozilla, Opera, and UCWeb.
The document also provided historical data from 2014, when Google’s search division made about $47 billion in revenue and paid about $7.1 billion in TAC. This means that the revenue for Search+ grew by almost three times between 2014 and 2021, while the TAC increased by nearly four times.
