FILE- In this Sept. 21, 2018 file photo customers look at Apple Watches at an Apple store in New York. A huge study suggests the Apple Watch sometimes can detect a worrisome irregular heartbeat. But experts say more work is needed to tell if using wearable technology to screen for heart problems really helps.
Stanford University researchers reported Saturday that the watch didn’t panic flocks of people, warning just half a percent of participants — about 2,100 — that they might have a problem. Among those who got EKG monitoring through the study, a third had atrial fibrillation, according to preliminary results being presented at an American College of Cardiology conference in New Orleans.
Other cardiac experts said the study, which was funded by Apple, suggests screening with wearable technology might be technically feasible eventually, but needs lots more research.

And report it to your insurer before you have any symptoms! Great.
Study is completely useless when done on young adults who rarely have Afib. Why didn’t you use older adults ... waste of time & money!
Sales is down or something?
Barely accurate for counting steps
I mean no research needed if it says it’s messed up go have a doctor check it out if it’s bad it was right if it’s good you’re ok what’s the issue
It basically misreads any heartbeat abnormality to be a fib. Not all that accurate per my doctor.
In the mean time the watch is giving you cancer
