SINGAPORE/PARIS - Boeing Co plans to release upgraded software for its 737 MAX in a week to 10 days, sources familiar with the matter said. The U.S. planemaker has been working on a software upgrade for an anti-stall system and pilot displays on its fastest-selling jetliner in the wake of the deadly Lion Air crash in Indonesia in October.
Similarities between the flight path in the Lion Air incident and Sunday’s Ethiopian Airlines crash have raised fresh questions about the system, but so far there is no evidence on whether the same software is again a potential issue. Asked about the timeline, first reported by AFP, a Boeing spokesman referred to a statement on Monday that the upgrade would be deployed across the 737 MAX fleet in the coming weeks.

No one trusts Boeing any longer. The executives that chose to keep flying it after Lion and who chose not to train on the MCAS system or tell the pilots it even existed should fly the first flights.
BoeingAirplanes That SOON...? WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG NO CONFIDENCE WHATSOEVER IN 737 MAX 8 OR 9 AIRPLAINES
Software & sensors patches but also proper training for pilots ,not just 1 hour via an ipad .The technical brochure should be translated in every single national language of the clients/airlines .Pilots are neither computer engineers , in most countries their English is basic.
No thank u. I don't want a corporations software patch between me and life or death.

What about the sensors. Take your time Boeing. Lives depend on this
This aircraft needs fresh type certification including pilot training
It is the design not software. Today Sullenberger also pointed out this.
Update quick! Why not is state done before of accidents airplanes?

You mean to say a simple software patch would’ve saved the lives of two crashed planes?
Even with a patch. It will be difficult to feel safe and confidence flying in a 737 Max 8
This November 2018 technical report had exactly identified the problem.
No way in hell I would fly in one of these even after they claim to 'fix' it.
How about painting those planes a better color.
I have flown 2x since 9/11, and it is no fun anymore.
What to fix if there is actually nothing wrong with the software?
Hardware is inclusive. If it goes software, a WPC coil will be enough to melt the plastic down to decide it may want to switch BIOS or format to flash into a prior state so that someone can try to break it and claim something else broke later. Like the lines outside earlier. Bro-
